Minister Hoti participated in a conference marking International White Cane Week, organized by the Office of Good Governance within the Office of the Prime Minister, in cooperation with the Association of the Blind of Kosovo.
In his address, the Minister for Labor, Family, and Values of the Liberation War, Mr. Andin Hoti, emphasized the Government’s commitment to supporting and advancing the rights of blind persons and those with visual impairments.
The Minister highlighted the ongoing financial support and social services provided to blind persons—including compensation for personal assistants, in accordance with categories defined by law. He also underscored the support the Ministry provides to civil society organizations and associations for the delivery of social services, including initiatives aimed at the empowerment of blind women.
Special attention was given to the importance of integrating blind persons into the labor market, as a key factor in their economic and social empowerment. In this regard, Minister Hoti highlighted the Ministry’s commitment—through the Employment Agency of the Republic of Kosovo and the Vocational Training Centers—to create more opportunities for skills training, employment, and economic independence.
