The Ministry of Labor, Family, and Liberation War Values, through the Department for Social and Family Service Policies, has conducted five regional information sessions. The aim was to inform public institutions, non-governmental organizations, and private sector providers of social and family services about the new secondary legislation regarding the licensing process and the fulfillment of new requirements.
The information sessions were held with municipalities in the regions of Prishtina, Peja, Gjakova, Prizren, South and North Mitrovica, Gjilan, and Ferizaj. Over 150 representatives participated, including those from government and local institutions, Centers for Social Work, civil society organizations, community-based homes, and service providers for children and the elderly—including businesses offering social services and elderly care.
The purpose of the sessions was to present and clarify the requirements set out in Administrative Instruction (MLFVLW) No. 01/2026, (MLFVLW) No. …02/2026, which define the minimum requirements for establishing institutions regarding professional staff, infrastructure, and equipment, as well as the criteria and procedures for licensing, re-licensing, license issuance, and license suspension for social and family service providers.
During the sessions, the licensing criteria and standards, required documentation, licensing procedures and steps, and provider responsibilities regarding compliance with the new legislation were presented.
These sessions contribute to raising awareness among service providers, preparing them to implement the new legislation, and strengthening cooperation among public institutions, civil society organizations, and the private sector in the field of social and family services.
The information sessions were organized by the Department for Social and Family Service Policies within the Ministry of Labor, Family, and Liberation War Values, in cooperation with and supported by “Syri i Vizionit” under the “Empowering Children for Policy Change and Participation” program—implemented in partnership with Save the Children Kosovo and supported by Sida.
