Signing of the Cooperation Agreement on Labor Mobility between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Albania

My first bilateral meeting at the ministerial level outside of Kosovo could not have had a greater significance. It took place precisely in Albania – where history, language and our national identity remind us that borders do not divide our belonging.

Beyond the state responsibility I bear, this visit also had a special emotional weight for me. During this meeting, I remembered a saying of my father: “Do or die.” It is in this spirit that we are building bridges of cooperation between Kosovo and Albania, bringing our citizens closer and removing the obstacles that administrative borders should not create between a nation.

Today, together with the Minister of Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Albania, Ms. Delina Ibrahimaj, we signed the Cooperation Agreement on Labor Mobility.

This agreement strengthens the ties between Kosovo and Albania and creates greater opportunities for our citizens in the field of employment and professional development.

One of the main results is the facilitation of access to the labor market, enabling citizens of both countries to have simpler and faster procedures for employment in the other country.

Kosovo and Albania are not united only by history and blood. We are also united by the responsibility to build a future with more opportunities for our citizens.

This is just another step towards this common goal.
