It is the employer’s duty to organize the workplace risk assessment and decide who will carry out the workplace risk assessment in his/her company.
Depending on the size of the company and the industry in which the company operates, workplace risk assessment can be provided by:
Persons holding a basic qualification in occupational safety and health;
Persons holding an advanced qualification in occupational safety and health;
Persons holding an occupational safety and health expert certificate;
Companies licensed as occupational safety and health services.
The involvement of an external occupational safety and health expert or service does not reduce the employer’s liability.
The person carrying out the risk assessment at the workplace must include in this process the trusted representative or employee representative and the employee working at the relevant workplace.
